From the Pastor, April 8, 2012

Dear People of God:

We are in a season of realigning ourselves to the vision and mission that God gave us when we first began.  Since our beginning nearly 10 years ago we have come a long way.  In some ways we have been faithful to our call and in other ways we have wandered away.  This is a time of introspection and taking stock of our own faithfulness as a church.

Through the month of April I will continue to  preach a series of sermons on Vision, mission, call and identity.  Our church has shifted in its demographic from being primarily a student population.  We now have wider representations from different generations.  More people have settled in and around the church.  We have a core group of people who are committed to the church and who have been with the church since its inception.

Slowly our unique identity as a church is emerging as we move beyond our birth pangs to becoming a more mature faith-community.  Now is the time to study again our founding documents and renew our commitment to be a prophetic community of faith that will do everything in its power to bring people to worship Jesus Christ.  This is not something that can happen with only a series of sermons. These sermons should spark a conversation that enables us to listen to the Holy Spirit both as individuals and as a community.  When we have spent sufficient time with God and having listened we will be clear to choose His way and not just our ways.

All to Jesus!  Only His Glory!

Your servant

Sunday Worship at 10:30 a.m.

The worship service is a dynamic movement of music, both modern and traditional with considerable time spent in prayer accompanied by sound biblical preaching. People are invited to pray in their own languages. Those unaccustomed to praying aloud quickly learn to pray in the safe setting of this community.

Our worship style is varied and enriched by the different traditions which we represent. We preach Christ crucified and take the Word of God seriously for all worship and practice. The worship has both structure as well as the fluidity of the Spirit's movement in our midst. Simultaneous translation in other languages is available.

We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday. The community gathers in a circle and shares the presence of Jesus Christ in the bread and wine.

Sunday School for children and child care are provided in the newly constructed Mission Center.

Healing Service: Every 2nd Sunday Morning Service

Eternity Church is committed to being an instrument of God's healing to the broken, the lame, the blind, the lost, the weary, the wounded. Every second Sunday morning service is a healing service.

The morning Healing service includes worship music, the Word of God, Communion and Prayer Ministry accompanied with laying on of hands and anointing with oil.

We take seriously Jesus' mandate to proclaim the kingdom of God, heal the sick and to cast out demons. Our God is a God who answers prayer.

Community Prayer: Fridays from 9:00 pm - 12:00 a.m.

Every Friday there will be prayer in the chapel led by Doc Reed.  All are invited to come and pray for the nation, the city and your neighborhood. Come with expectation.

Mid-Week Prayer: Noon

Every Wednesday and Friday we gather for Prayer at noon in the main sanctuary.
