Domine Dirige Nos

Beloved People of God,

Just days ago, we made our way to the tomb at dawn to prepare Jesus’ body for burial, only to find the stone rolled away and the linens that once wrapped his lifeless frame empty! As if staring at the sun, we saw angels in radiant light asking us why we searched for the living among the dead? 

Hearing their question was like tasting electricity. Jesus’ words came flooding back to us, as our hearts and minds were illuminated! We ran back to the apostles and the closest disciples to tell them the shocking sight!

And now we wake each morning with increasing amazement and wonder as we walk and talk with Jesus again!

For the next seven weeks we will join Jesus and His disciples reliving the last few days, once more in light of the resurrection, returning to the upper room, awaiting the promise of the Father. To aid us in our journey, we offer a Pentecost Prayer, and a series of sermons called A Common Table, A Common Pentecost.

Friend, as we make our way toward the Ascension and Pentecost, may we increasingly sense the presence of our Triune God and a deeper unity with one another.
